Terms of Use

About the service
STLFixer is an independently operated browser-based STL inspection and repair tool. Contact support@stlfixer.io. These terms describe use of the hosted service; the software’s open-source licences remain separate. See our Privacy Policy.
Supported repairs and limits
The first version accepts ASCII and binary STL files up to 50 MB (50,000,000 bytes), subject to mesh complexity, browser memory and processing limits. Some files within the size limit may be unsupported or time out. Unsupported problems may require a mesh editor. A declined repair is not a successful repair.
Check the output
Keep your original file and review the Before and After views and repair report. Closing supported small triangular holes adds faces and may close an intended opening. Scaling changes dimensions. STL does not define measurement units. Independently inspect the exported model in your intended workflow.
Your models and permissions
You retain rights you hold in your models. Processing a model does not transfer ownership to us, give us permission to publish it, or automatically apply the software’s GPL licence to the model. Use models you own or have permission to process. Do not misuse the hosted service for unlawful activity or interfere with its availability or security.
Results and availability
A passed mesh check does not guarantee printability, dimensions, structural strength or manufacturing suitability. Independently validate models used for engineering, medical or other safety-critical purposes. The service is provided as available and may change or be unavailable. To the extent permitted by applicable law, it is provided without warranties of uninterrupted operation, absence of errors or suitability for a particular purpose. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
Fees and advertising
This version has no account, subscription checkout or payment requirement. It does not display advertisements. Future pricing or advertising changes will be described before they apply.
Open-source rights
The repair application is free software under GPL-3.0-or-later within its stated licence scope. Dependencies retain their own licences. See Source & licences for notices, corresponding source and build instructions. These website terms do not remove your rights to copy, modify or redistribute software under its licences.
Changes and contact
We will update these terms when the service changes. Updates do not retroactively revoke rights already granted under open-source licences. For questions, contact support@stlfixer.io.
